Annadel: North Burma Trail Tree Down

Posted in
  • North Burma Trail has a tree down across it which makes it unsafe to horses at this time.  The location is near the bottom of the trail where the new section was built this year, just below the creek crossing.  Please plan alternate route:  do not ride from Channel Drive up North Burma or down North Burma from Live Oak to Channel Trail.  Trails Council has plans to remove this, but it may take some time to get the crew together.

Annadel Trail Closure: Two Quarry

Posted in

Two Quarry Trail at Annadel State Park is closed till further notice to all users.  A huge tree came down in the storms and took out the trail below Frey Canyon, between WP Richardson Trail and Frey Canyon Overlook (fire-road).  Please so not attempt to ride this with horses:  there is no way through.  If you ride from Ledson Marsh, there is no way down to the parking lot except to backtrack to South Burma or Marsh Trails.  Plan alternate routes.

Respect the rules at the Bodega Dunes

Posted in

New Years day was a busy day at the Bodega Dunes. Over 60 rigs pulled up and took over the parking lot, so that trailers ended up parking on the road. Also there were reports of riders going off trail and running up and down the Dunes. Please remember that we are fortunate to have access to the dunes and must respect the trails and stay off any unmarked areas. In future if the parking lot is full, find somewhere else to ride. The neighbors around the dunes are very mindful of the treasure in their midst and hope that we will all respect and protect the area.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Closure

Please do not attempt to drive a horse trailer up the road to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.  There are no turn-arounds along the road or at the gate.  The parking lot for Goodspeed Trail just outside the locked gate, however, will have barriers but will be available for emergency turn-around.  It is closed to parking for day-use because the park is closed.  This is not a parking lot for Hood Mtn Regional Park.  Goodspeed Trail is a State Park trail, hiker only.
