Small Animal shelter operation procedures, learn safe handling and how to recognize common illnesses and take vitals (temperature, pulse and respiration rate) on dogs and cats. Overview of how to keep yourself safe when handling, loading/unloading and caring for animals.

**Required training for Sonoma CART shelter and evacuation volunteers wanting to handle dogs or cats and work in small animal emergency sheltering.

9:00-10:45am: Small Animal Sheltering Fundamentals
11:00-11:45: Small Animal Behavior, Handling, and First Aid
Lunch
12:15-1:00 Infectious Disease Overview
1:10-1:50: Hands On Training Stations
1:50pm: Wrap up and group photo
